Hair Transplantation

What is Hair Transplantation?
Hair transplantation is a type of surgery that moves hair you already have to fill an area with thin or no hair. Doctors have been doing these transplants all around the world since the 1950s, but techniques have changed a lot in recent years.
There are several techniques are developed for hair transplantation. Initially a technique called follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS) were commonly used. However currently less invasive techniques such as follicular unit extraction (FUE) and direct hair implant (DHI) are more popular today.
FUE
(Follicular Unit Extraction)
Follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplants are done by taking individual hair follicles out of your skin and implanting them elsewhere on your body. This will make the hair in the new area look thicker.

DHI
(Direct Hair Implantation)
Direct hair implantation (DHI) is a modification of the FUE technique created by the company DHI Global Medical Group.
In FUE, a surgeon manually cuts channels in your scalp before implanting hair follicles. During DHI, they use a specialized pen-shaped tool that can do both at the same time.
